2 Corinthians 5:15 (BSB) – “And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died for them and was raised again.”
I was going to Walmart one day and passed by a vehicle with a license plate that said Live 4 Him. When I saw the message, I stopped. It touched my heart when I read it that I paused from going in the store and prayed by the vehicle, “Yes, Lord help me to live for you”.
Life can be hard at times. Challenges may come to each of us in which we must choose to live for God or not. In that moment going to Walmart, I was tired and wanted to complain. I was looking at negative things that happened. In that moment, I was reminded to not focus on the people or circumstances but to keep my eyes on Jesus.
Philippians 2:14-15 (BSB) – “Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and perverse generation, in which you shine as lights in the world.”
Hebrews 11:1-3 (BSB) – “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off every encumbrance and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance the race set out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. “
Jesus endured the cross and suffering so that we could have a relationship with God, forgiveness of sins, victory, freedom and eternal life. It was not easy for Him to do what He did for us, but He was obedient to God, the Father. He set an example for us to follow and to encourage us on our journey. It may not be easy everyday to live for God, but Jesus has shown us that we can endure and that we can be obedient to the Father. We are in a race aiming to reach the finish line. We are pressing to hear God say “well done” when we have finished our race on earth.
1 Corinthians 15:58 (BSB) – “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast and immovable. Always excel in the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not vain.”
Lord, help us to keep our eyes on You, to live for you, to honor you in our everyday decisions. Help us to be steadfast and immovable in You. Help us to always excel in work that you have for us and to run with endurance the race that You have set for us. Help us to recognize your presence with us everywhere that we go, to remember what you endured for us so that we do not grow weary and lose heart. Thank you for the example that You have shown us to follow.
I pray that today’s blog will be an encouragement to you to continue to live for the Lord. He is worthy of our all.
